and excellence together!

How to work more productive and effective

  • If you are invited to a project, respond to the community manager as soon as possible with all the required information.
  • Read the instructions carefully before starting a test cycle and ask questions if anything is unclear.
  • Be honest if you encounter any issues or don't fully understand the instructions. Don't start testing until you have a complete understanding of the task.
  • Prepare high-quality bug reports with detailed information, screenshots, and video recordings.
  • If you can't find a new bug, comment on other testers' bugs and share your location, device, and other relevant information.
  • Test the app or website thoroughly, and don’t just focus on the most obvious issues.
  • Make sure your bug reports are clear, concise, and easy to understand.
  • Use clear and descriptive titles for your bug reports to help the development team quickly identify the issue.
  • Try to reproduce the bug on different devices, browsers, and operating systems if possible.
  • Act professionally and maintain good communication with the project manager and other testers.
  • Don't forget to log in to your profile regularly and update it with any changes such as a new device, a new location, or your ability to join a payment testing cycle once needed.
  • If you can't complete a test cycle or are running late, inform the project manager to avoid losing stars and a reduced rating score.

How to find more bugs

  • Read and understand the requirements before starting testing.
  • Test on multiple devices, browsers, and operating systems to ensure full coverage.
  • Test the boundaries and edge cases to find bugs that may occur in unexpected situations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other testers in the community to share information and catch more bugs.
  • Attempt to reproduce the bugs you find to confirm their existence and better understand the root cause.
  • Meet your deadlines and complete testing within the specified time frame to maintain your reliability score.
  • Submit quality bug reports that are clear, concise, and easy to understand, and include detailed information and screenshots to support your findings.

How to prepare high-quality bug reports

  • Be specific and clear: Clearly state what the issue is and what steps you took to reproduce it. Use screenshots and videos to show the bug in action.
  • Reproduce the bug: Try to reproduce the bug multiple times to confirm that it's not just a one-time error. This will help you describe the issue more accurately and give more context to the developers.
  • Provide details about the environment: Mention the device type, operating system version, and any relevant software or hardware information.
  • Use a descriptive title: Choose a title that summarizes the issue and gives a clear idea of what the bug is about.
  • Priority: Assign a priority to the bug based on its impact on the product or user experience.
  • Steps to Reproduce: List the exact steps taken to reproduce the bug, so that the developers can easily follow and verify the issue.
  • Expected and Actual Results: Clearly state what you expected to happen and what actually happened when you encountered the bug.
  • Additional Information: Add any additional information that could help in fixing the bug such as error messages, etc.

How to become a 5-star tester

  • Stay in touch with us and don't miss our invitations. Always check your spam folder to ensure you're getting the latest information from Ubertesters.
  • Update your profile regularly and only share truthful information about yourself. If you no longer use an iPhone 12 (as example), please delete it and add your new device. If you move from Italy to the United States, please update your location in your profile. Your location and devices are the most necessary information for clients' requirements.
  • Keep in touch with the Project Manager (PM). If you can't complete a test cycle or if you're running late, inform the PM to be removed from the project without losing your rating.
  • Be open to opportunities and be ready to accept offerings quickly.
  • Be honest if something goes wrong during the test cycle or if you don't fully understand the instructions.
  • Prepare quality Bug Reports with detailed information, screenshots, and video recordings.
  • Always comment on your job. If you can't find a new bug, comment on other testers' bugs, such as "Hi, I'm in Miami, and my device is iPhone X, and I found the same bug on {date}."
